Why I started living a more natural life
A few years ago, I didn’t know this lifestyle existed. I didn’t clean with baking soda and vinegar, and I definitely didn’t know how to read ingredient labels before buying products from the store. Then someone introduced me to a starter bundle of essential oils that I can use in my diffuser. With the promise of a beautiful-smelling home without toxins, I jumped in!
Let’s just say, one thing led to another and I was hooked. Using the essential oils helped my kids sleep better, and made me a more confident parent in taking care of them when they were sick or stressed out. The more that I learned about these little bottles of oils, the more I wanted to see what would happen if we made more changes in our home.
So I slowly (and I mean a few things a month) started swapping out our products. I didn’t have a guide, but I did what I could to make better purchases for my family. There were times when I didn’t make the best product choice. All of this comes with a learning curve, and it’s not going to be perfect the first time. The only thing I can suggest is that you keep going and keep trying to learn more.
Starting to make some of our products went the same way. Slow to start, and then jumping right in after seeing that they worked better than so many store-bought items all while using better-for-us ingredients and more affordable! There are some things that may sound intimidating, like making your own homemade soap. It took me 1.5 years to finally tell myself I could do it. One step and one product at a time!
With making a more natural home, there have been so many changes to me and my family. I used to get chronic sinus infections requiring antibiotics, and they have been GONE since switching over to our products. Improved seasonal allergies that used to last several months down to only a few weeks of the year. Fewer trips to the doctor and symptoms that I have learned to treat myself at home (within reason).
I am so excited for you to join this community! I couldn’t have done this without a group of people supporting me, so I created this blog to help support you.
